The Aquilonian town of Targa.

Targa is a fast-growing town located along the Road of Kings.

The majority of trade product produced in Targa is agricultural, but there is a growing mining and forestry industry in the local area. Targa is historically known for its horses and peppers. As the last town on the Road of Kings before entering the vast plains, it is a popular stop for travelers and thus has a thriving hospitality trade.

In recent years Targa has become an important location for masonry and engineering. Both the mason and engineers guilds have established offices in the town. It is widely believed the guilds have an interest in exploring and mining Targa Canyon. Local masons are currently working alongside the Royal Engineers in building city fortifications and other urban improvements.

Notes

Among the most notable local geological features is Targa Canyon. The Old Targa River still flows through this canyon, though the area itself consists of dense and nearly impenetrable forest. During the time of Acheron the river was much larger and a major trade and transportation artery that stretched far to the south. Though scholars agree the canyon was carved by the river in ancient times, there are legends that the rift in the earth was caused by the sorcerers of Acheron. Lore holds that the entrance to an ancient underground city may be found in Targa Canyon.
