Rex

Rex (b. September 27th 2039) has little memory of his childhood. He vaguely recalls his parents fear of him and his abilities which led them to seek out special schooling. His studies of meditation and autohypnosis helped to calm him, teaching him to control of his telekinetic ability.

Things stopped being fuzzy when he joined Team Omega at the age of eight after being "rescued" from one of the Thaumas stations. The group treated him like a valued member despite his age. He fought battles against the eggs along side Kosmo, Fletcher and the others gaining their respect. Jack Fletcher's bodyguard Willa took on a bit of a mothers role for Rex and he grew to care for her above all others. In the wastes of what once was America, Rex was happy.

When his friend Maxine died in an attack from the eggs he couldn't help but feel like he could have saved her. Also, things started to feel a bit less like a game. They traveled New York looking for food, while Fletcher took them from bank to treasury, to art gallery. Rex could see the rage bubbling in Kosmo. Through some chance they found a cryobank which had been reserved for them by the precog Theresa May. Rex and Team Omega chose to follow the psychics advice and froze themselves for nearly 200 years before being awoken.

The world was now run by Sarah McKillup (Kosmo's archenemy) who now fancied herself as The Queen of Light. She had erected a great "Tower of Light" and had defeated the eggs in our solar system as well as many distant ones. Those who woke them wanted Team Omega to kill Sarah and Kosmo was too happy to accept.

However, once Team Omega infiltrated the tower Kosmo saw how unlikely killing Sarah would be. In an effort to protect the group he betrayed them. He made a deal with Sarah to kill Fletcher and Willa to save the others. Rex then turned to Kosmo and telekinetically squeezed his brain until he broke into seizures. He couldn't bring himself to kill the helpless man so he left Kosmo knowing his suit would heal him.

Rex and the others found the queen and he fought harder than he ever had in his short life. He sent barrages of bullets and pebbles at the queen but there was a force field. Then Kosmo entered, healed and still on a mission to kill Fletcher and Willa. Ellen, another member of Team Omega, had been mind controlled to help him.

Rex continued to attack the forcefield all the while his attention was diverted trying to keep the others safe. When he finally broke the queen's shield he was too distracted relocating Willa to a safe spot to notice the queen close in on him with a grapple. In short order Rex passed out.

He awoke in a lavish child's apartment of his own in the Tower of Light with the Queen of Light at his side. Willa was no longer, Fletcher was imprisoned. Rex hated Kosmo and Ellen.

However, he had little time to exact revenge before he was forced into a growth accelerator by order of the queen. The memories he had were built to soften the hurt he felt. Nine years of virtual life passed, and although distant, his hatred for Kosmo was still there. However, so was an understanding. Fletcher was a terrible person, his selfishness almost drove them to ruin in the wastes. Willa was a great person in many respects but she had one huge flaw, she loved Fletcher.

Rex could never forgive Kosmo, but he begrudgingly respected his choice.
