Operation Ghost Wind
A NASA Special Operations Team Delta mission.
Background
Official story (for public release): Captain Sean Riley was tragically killed in a training exercise.
Off-the-record story: Captain Sean Riley was wounded by a piece of shrapnel from the explosion of the Starlight comet probe. The wound became infected and, in spite of the heroic efforts of US Army physicians, Riley was lost. Before his body could be retrieved by NASA Special Operations, it was loaded into a truck with a number of other bodies and transported to a nearby disposal facility. Despite several searches of the facility, the body of Captain Riley has not been located and is presumed cremated.
Actual Events
Approximately 24 hours after death, Captain Riley’s corpse became spontaneously animated. The reanimated corpse attempted to bite several personnel and managed to wound two of the attending medics before fleeing Camp Romero and escaping into the Afghan hills. Members of USMC 5th Reconnaissance gave pursuit. The creature was shot several times before falling into a deep ravine. Search for Riley’s body was begun but abandoned at 18:00 as darkness fell and Taliban forces were sighted in area.
NASA SOC ORDERS: RETRIEVE CAPTAIN RILEY’S BODY AND RETURN TO MOFFETT FIELD
Additional Personnel
USMC 5th Reconnaissance is currently stationed at Camp Romero. Team Delta may recruit personnel from 5th Recon. Most qualified personnel within 5th recon: Private Lee Linda.
Impending Taliban Assault
Intelligence drones have recorded the presence of a heavy contingent of Taliban in the area. It is believed they will attempt to re-take Asmar village. Taliban forces number 60-120 total, divided into 3 regiments. They are armed with automatic weapons and light artillery.
