Architect
Architects are responsible for the development of new colonies, and typically command worldships, which contain vast amounts of restricted technology necessary for such an endeavor. Architects are responsible for all siting, planning, starlifting, and megascale engineering that goes into the creation of a new colony. This is typically achieved by a vast array of nanotechnological processes distributed through a star system. Colonies are generally founded in red dwarf systems on Neptune-sized ice giant worlds. Occasionally, gas giants or large terrestrial planets are used, but the standard choice for colonization involves a base world similar to Neptune or Uranus, with an exterior nanocomposite and mineral surface erected around it.
Architecture was, until approximately two thousand years ago, exclusively done by humans. The development of stable Diana type parahumans, however, rendered human architects obsolete, as Dianas are simply more intelligent and more capable at architecture tasks. No human architects remain in the employ of any architecture firms, though some still own or manage them. A small architecture shop will involve one architect and access to a worldship shared by other firms. The largest firms in the universe employ several architects and own their own worldships. Worldship ownership is restricted to humans.
