Lawrence Bishop was born on July 10th, 1995 in Dallas, Texas. He was educated at the University of Texas, where he ultimately received his doctorate in Biochemical Engineering. He was recruited by Bio-Americana, and worked there, eventually serving as its CEO starting in 2030. When Bio-Americana was acquired by Azimuth in 2038, he was retained as the Director of Biotechnological Research. He currently works at Azimuth's headquarters for biotechnological research in Manaus, Brazil.

Lawrence Bishop is best known for winning the 2029 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for research leading to his groundbreaking paper, "Hyperspacial protein folding in species of the Malpighiaceae family of flowering plants." In it, he proved the presence of an extra-dimensional process during the interaction of certain amino acids and alkaloids, found predominately in flora native to the Amazon rainforest. Under his leadership, Azimuth has expanded its presence in the Amazon Rainforest, opening research centers in Rio Branco and Iquitos. Azimuth has pledged to devote 10% of its profits from its biotechnological division to the protection of the Amazon Rainforest.
