Magic Moe's
Magic Moe's was a semi-private social club and drinking establishment for magicians. It was located at 316 W 2nd Street in downtown Los Angeles, the site of a former speakeasy. The bar was owned and operated by the occultist Morris Green, whose nickname "Magic Moe" was in jocular reference to his incompetence at magery.
Members of the Choronzon Club held their monthly meetings at Magic Moe's. Green was a member of the club and would close the bar during these occasions.
The bar was destroyed in 1926 at the onset of the Fire Magic Wars. A confrontation between two competing factions of spellcasters resulted in the total destruction of the interior of the bar. Green himself was thought to be killed in the fracas along with eight other magicians and occultists, including Gerry Gardner and Phil Rosario.
The bar reopened in June of 1950, newly decorated to resemble a historic speakeasy from the Prohibition era.
