Aurora Starsong was born in 1937 on the 27th of June. Her parents were little known figures in the occult world under the names Greatoak (Larry Brahm b. 1921) and Rayne Starsong (Marion Sisel b. 1920). They lived the typical bohemian life and had some minor magical talents, mainly the simple cantrips of a lesser mage. Greatoak's big trick was creating a penny sized ball of light that would last about three minutes before he grew too tired to maintain it. When Rayne got pregnant the young couple moved away from the city life in Dayton, Ohio to the small town of West Milton.

At about the age of seven, Aurora started to tell many stories of imaginary friends and the adventures they would go on. She would talk about baby dragons, pixies and talking porcupines she found in the forest. Her teachers would regularly send her home for what they called unrepentant lying and the passionate defense of her whimsies. Her parents felt they had encouraged her imagination too much, and Greatoak started to go by the name Larry again to encourage his daughter to face reality. One day Aurora just stopped telling anyone of the wonders she had found and kept them to herself.

Months later things had returned to normal, and she was doing well in school again. The end of the year talent show was approaching and Aurora had no idea what to do. Each student was required to write what their talent would be; she just wrote "dance performance and other stuff". When the day of the talent show came, Aurora grew nervous. All the other kids were just lip syncing to old records or playing the flute poorly. Maybe she had over prepared.

When they finally called her name Aurora was feeling queasy, she had all these planned dance moves but she had to concentrate and her head was spinning. She plopped down Indian style center stage. An unnerving restlessness was slowly growing in the audience until a bunny hopped onto stage. Suddenly music started to play as more bunnies hopped into view. Then each of the seven bunnies in complete synchronization started to dance. Seven giant butterflies flew onto the stage doing loops and twirls before landing on the backs of each bunny. Confetti fell from the ceiling and fireworks burst into view. Then the bunnies were lifted by the butterflies and they started to sing.

"Besame, besame mucho, Como si fuera esta noche la última vez, Besame, besame mucho, Que tengo miedo a perderte, perderte despues...."

Without warning the music stopped, the animals had disappeared... or run away, and Aurora had slumped over exhausted with blood coming out from her nose and ears.

Local authorities, in cooperation with some undisclosed branch of the government, determined that Aurora had been a disturbed child. She had captured birds, glued cotton balls to them, stapled cloth bunny ears to their heads, and painted their wings to look like butterflies. She had tethered them to the stage and poked them with a stick to make them dance. Unfortunately none of the poor creatures survived her cruelties. She had caused a gas leak which may have impaired some of the audiences memories of the event. As far as the fireworks, it was a good thing the whole auditorium didn't burn down.

Aurora and her parents were relocated by the government to an undisclosed area where she was given the treatment she needed.

As of December 1964, there have been a handful of diverse people claiming the name Aurora Starsong.
