Notes
Analysis indicates the paint was enchanted prior to being applied to canvas, which is itself enchanted (prior to paint application) with what appear to be “open-ended” meta-spells. These meta-spells are linked on one end to the enchantments of the paints. The paints themselves appear to be enchanted in such a manner as to differ not only according to what they depict, but also what spells are activated on the “open” end of the meta-spells. It is theorized that any number or type of spells may be activated and attached to the “open” end of the meta-spells, resulting in a variety of effects. The purpose of the paintings is unknown, though they are thought to at the very least a meditative aid. Theoretically, Illusion spells cast on the “open” end of the meta-spells might for example create perfect 3-D illusions of the images depicted in the paintings. Gate spells might react with the enchantments in a similar fashion.
