Conan of Cimmeria defeats King Numedides in battle and seizes the crown of Aquilonia.

Conan is deposed in favor of Valerius, member of the former ruling family. Aquilonia falls under the occupation of Nemedia.

Conan defeats Nemedian forces at the battle of Tanasul. Valerius flees to the Border Kingdoms as Conan's army approaches Tarantia. His throne reclaimed, Conan marries Zenobia and makes her his queen.

Conn, first son of Conan and Zenobia, is born.

1296 |
Nemedia, Ophir, and Koth join forces in an attempt to invade Aquilonia on the Tybor river plain. Aquilonian armies are victorius and push south into Ophir.

1297 |
Aquilonia armies subjugate Koth. Nemedian generals, in alliance with Nemedian priests of Mitra, stage a successful coup and oust Valerius, who is killed while attempting to escape.

1298 |
Nemedia, Koth, and Ophir are declared territories of the Aquilonian Kingdom. King Conan lifts the ban on the worship of gods other than Mitra. Unrest in the outlying conquered territories comes slowly to an end as people learn they will be allowed to keep their old gods.

Treaty with Ophir establishes a 99-year lease on over 80% of Ophir's gold mines and arranges the marriage of King Con to Sirah, heir to the throne of Ophir.

King Conan I abdicates in favor of his son, Conn. King Conan II declares Mitraism the official state religion, but vows to continue his father's decree that no faith will be banned.
