Monocrys Bodysuit

see GURPS Ultra-Tech p. 172

This is Star Fleet issue concealable ballistic body armor. It is typically issued when encounters with primitive (pre-TL10, i.e. non-phaser/laser using) hostiles are expected.

The DR is 24/8*. It absorbs 8 points of damage against most forms a attacks, but against cutting and piercing attacks it protects for 24 points. It is flexible, so for every full 10 points of cutting, impaling, or piercing damage or 5 points of crushing damage stopped by DR, 1 HP blunt trauma causes actual injury (B379). If the DR of the armor is penetrated, then there is no blunt trauma effect.

Monocrys is a TL 11 material. This bodysuit covers the body and limbs. Cost is $900. Weight is 6 lbs. LC 3.

Ablative Nanoplas Jacket and Trousers

see GURPS Ultra-Tech p. 173-174

This is Star Fleet issue laser-resistant body armor. It is typically issued when encounters with phaser/laser wielding hostiles are expected.

The DR is 36/6*. It absorbs 6 points of damage against most forms a attacks, but against burning or crushing explosive attacks from any type of laser it protects for 36 points. It is ablative, so for every 10 full points of basic laser damage, remove one point of DR from the location hit. It is flexible, so for every full 10 points of cutting, impaling, or piercing damage or 5 points of crushing damage stopped by DR, 1 HP blunt trauma causes actual injury (B379). If the DR of the armor is penetrated, then there is no blunt trauma effect.

Ablative Nanoplas is a TL 10 material. This jacket covers the torso and arms; the trousers cover the groin and legs. Cost for the jacket is $450, for the trousers is $280. Weight for the jacket is 3 lbs., for the trousers is 2.8 lbs. LC 3.

Assault Boots

see GURPS Ultra-Tech p. 173

These are Star Fleet issue armored boots. They are typically issued when encounters with hostiles are expected.

The DR is 30/15. The sole of the boot provides 30 DR; the rest of the boot provides 15 DR.

Cost is $150. Weight is 3 lbs. LC 3.
