Occut is an ancient city, constructed during the prehistory of Midian. It is located in the mountains of the northernmost region of the barony of Usan.
The Knights of Cydonia established their headquarters in Occut, where they constructed a palace in the architectural style of their homeland. They governed from this place for the entirety of their time in Midian. In the central hall the knights constructed a large circular table made of marble, around which they gathered for conversation and debate. Another building was said to be dedicated to the sciences. Additionally there was a large temple where the Church is reputed to have been born. Brightly lit at night by torches that never extinguished themselves, the city was said to be powered by forces from within the earth.
A remote and isolated place, very few people visited Occut. Descriptions of the city are based on oral accounts passed down through generations and are likely exaggerated. There was only way in and out of the city, through a narrow and winding pass in the mountains that was guarded by beasts.
Occut was abandoned when the knights left Midian. It is said to be a haunted place, overrun by strange vegetation, and the air is deadly with poisonous gases. The crumbling ruins are over two thousand years old, very unstable and dangerous to visit.
